 Welcome to Baldy View Elementary in Upland, California As your principal, I feel extremely fortunate to be a part of this school community! Baldy View Elementary School has a tradition of high academic standards and impressive student achievement. We are a California Distinguished School as well as a Title One High Achieving School. Our strong belief that all children can learn is the core of our existence. As a Professional Learning Community, all staff members work together and are committed to helping students achieve academic proficiency. Baldy View offers strong instructional programs, a safe and caring environment, and a rigorous standards-based curriculum. Before and after school clubs and activities offer additional opportunities for interested students. At Baldy View we care about the whole child. We expect a lot from our students and set the bar high. We encourage all of our students to always t ry their best and put their best effort forth. We are here to support them by scaffolding lessons and providing extra help if needed, either during the day or after school. Our teachers are always willing to go the extra mile to help a child. This includes making time to talk to parents throughout the year. We know how important it is not to have parents surprised either by behavior or academic progress. That’s why we communicate frequently with parents through the use of our daily planners, Eagle Grams for good behavior and Behavior Notices if there is a problem. We also teach our students to be respectful by teaching them positive character traits. We refer to these as our Eagle Expectations. Don’t be surprised to see a smile and a greeting if you are walking through our hallways. We strive for a safe and positive learning environment. There are numerous opportunities for parents to volunteer and participate in their children’s education. The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) plans many special events throughout the school year to support the students and staff. Parents are one of our most valued resources and we appreciate your efforts! We invite you to join us by getting involved with the PTA or becoming a volunteer. We love our volunteers! I am really excited about another new year at Baldy View and look forward to meeting all of you! I believe in making myself available as much as possible.
